Turquoise (Chalk) Beads and StrandsTurquoise (Chalk) Beads

Chalk Turquoise is the term used for reconstituted Turquoise. What does that mean? The left over tailings are ground down into a powder (i.e., chalk) then glued back together, usually with the addition of some dye. It really is Turquoise, but it is not naturally occuring. This process is also sometimes referred to in Gem circles as Block Cut. That said, it usually rivals Grade AAA Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, so is quite bright and lovely--and much more affordable, so you can get the Look for much less. We also carry Chinese Turquoise, and Synthetic Turquoise.
