Emerald is one of the four precious gemstones and, of all gemstones, the most expensive. The highest quality emerald is a transparent deep grass green. Emerald belongs to the Beryl family of gemstones which includes such prestigous gems as Morganite (Pink), Aquamarine (Pale Blue) and Heliodore (Yellow).) Please assume all Emeralds have been Oiled--this doesn't mean the gemstones will feel oily--rather oil is infused into cracks to improve the coloring. Almost all Emeralds, by nature of their crystal system, will be flawed.
