Iolite Beads

Iolite is a violet blue to purple gemstone that has the unusual property of being different colors from 3 different viewpoints, a property Geologists call, pleochroic. In one view, Iolite is purple, the other, a dark violet blue and from a third view, gray or brown. The scientific name for Iolite is Cordierite but it is also referred to as a Water Sapphire. Iolites hardness makes it a beautiful and durable gemstone. (NOTE: All beads/stones can be assumed to be about a Grade B and UNTREATED, unless otherwise specified)
