Obsidian (Mahogany) Beads

Mahogany Obsidian is a light weight, burnt ochre and black variety of Obsidian. As with all varieties of Obsidian, it is volcanic glass which cooled so fast, crystals could not form. It gets its coloring from the high concentrations of iron. Black Obsidian is called Apache tears. With snowflakes/white inclusions, called Snowflake Obsidian. (NOTE: All beads/stones can be assumed to be about a Grade B and UNTREATED, unless otherwise specified)
