Metamorphosed Calcite is known as Marble and is often used to adorn buildings. This soft gemstone (Hardness about 3-4 on Moh's hardness scale) comes in many colors, though gem grade is usually pure white. Marble is created when millions of marine creature's shells are accumulated and baked in the earth. (NOTE: All beads/stones can be assumed to be about a Grade B and UNTREATED, unless otherwise specified)
