Sugilite Beads

Horrifically expensive and rare, Sugilite comes in deep purple to neon pink (Luvulite). Named after Professor Kenici Sugi, who found the first small deposit in Japan (since mined out). Very, very rare and very, very expensive it is inevitable that fakes will pop up. In today's gem market, purple Lepidolite is often sold as Sugilite or Flower Sugilite, however Lepidolite is a MUCH softer gemstone. We've even seen Fluorite passed off as Sugilite by some less than reputable dealers, so BUYER BEWARE.(NOTE: All beads/stones can be assumed to be about a Grade B and UNTREATED, unless otherwise specified)
